Judy Leopold, a fourth generation Huntingtonian, was educated at the Eastman School of Music where she majored in piano and voice. After graduating, she lived in Woodstock New York where she founded the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra, a community ensemble still in existence 30 years later.
She is director of four award-winning choirs at Walt Whitman High School in Huntington Station and is sought after as an accompanist on Long Island. She has served as guest conductor for Suffolk and Nassau County’s Honor’s Choirs, the Usdan Performing Arts Center, and the National Chorale’s Annual Messiah Sing-In at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center. She is currently forming a Women's Choir for The Women's League of UJA encompassing Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island.
Ms. Leopold’s vision for the Huntington Women’s Choir comes from her experience with her high school students and their continuing need to perform as adults, coupled with her passion for the great masterpieces of music written for women’s voices.
